Sparkassen-IT
With its broadband initiative, Sparkasse Pforzheim Calw , the largest savings bank in Baden-Württemberg, launched a challenging and forward-looking project in 2002 and has continued to pursue it ever since: the expansion of a highly available, state-of-the-art fiber optic network in the Northern Black Forest region.
This made a significant contribution to economic and structural development in the region at an early stage, ensuring that local municipalities, business customers, and companies, as well as partners from the tourism, healthcare, and education sectors, do not face any locational disadvantages when it comes to digitization, but instead enjoy virtually optimal conditions.
S-IT Informationstechnologie Betreiber GmbH & Co. KG , or Sparkassen-IT or S-IT for short, was founded as a wholly-owned subsidiary and is continuously building a highly available fiber optic network for the lightning-fast and secure transmission of large volumes of data.
This combines the stability and solidity of a savings bank with the necessary flexibility and enthusiasm for development that are indispensable for operating such a high-quality IT infrastructure.
