Operations design and Development Manager
JOB PURPOSE
The Operations Design & Development Manager is responsible for leading and delivering white-space projects across their full lifecycle—from initiation and planning through execution, monitoring, and closure—while ensuring technical excellence, operational readiness, and seamless customer technical onboarding. This role acts as the central point of coordination for project teams, collaborating closely with cross-functional departments, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. In addition, the role supports the sales process by developing technical solutions, designing white-space layouts, and providing expert guidance to ensure customer requirements are accurately translated into viable, compliant, and operationally aligned solutions.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Project Exceutation
• Oversee project execution to ensure quality standards and deliverables are met
• Lead project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure on time delivery
• Prepare progress reports and maintain accurate project documentation
• Manage stakeholders and maintain clear communication across all project phases
• Monitor project budget, control costs, and ensure financial compliance
• Identify risks, implement mitigation strategies, and resolve issues proactively
Sales Engagement & Customer Support
• Understand customer requirements and take responsibility for the overall solution presented to the business and customer.
• Work closely with Account Managers to produce comprehensive solutions, including layouts and costs, for sales opportunities. Considering timing, site location, and product sets.
• Collaborate closely with Operations, Design and Construction, and other departments to build comprehensive technical solutions.
• Support the technical classification of opportunities.
• Work with Bid Management and Sales to develop solutions that meet both customer requirements and AtlasEdge business needs and respond to RFP (Request for Proposal), ensuring timely replies
• Manage technical items and questions during face-to-face meetings or calls with customers.
• Deliver clear explanations of AtlasEdge’s product portfolio.
• Comprehend clients’ operational business needs, including factors shaping their business and
challenges they face, to ensure AtlasEdge effectively meets those needs.
Site Expertise and Operational Collaboration
• Develop expert understanding of AtlasEdge sites, including capacity (space and power).
• Appreciate how a given site can further develop or expand.
• Ensure operational teams agree on all proposed solutions.
• Maintain high-level knowledge of upcoming sites in the AtlasEdge portfolio.
Proficiency in Software:
• Using tools for planning, scheduling, tracking, and reporting (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Asana, Trello).
• Visio
• AutoCAD
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, electrical engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience (5years) in managing Data Centers’ projects, demonstrating increasing responsibility.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies
• Experience with project management software and tools.
• Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to effectively manage and motivate cross-functional teams.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience in customer-oriented roles
• Very good written and spoken German and English
• Coordinate internal meetings with key stakeholders to address operational/service issues, gain buy-in for solutions, and work collaboratively to resolve problems promptly. Escalate to the Service Design Senior Manager and/or VP, Client Services when necessary.
• Identify compliances and deviations in customer requirements against current AtlasEdge product offerings.
