60 Seconds with Raoul du Plessis

“Finance underpins so much of what makes a company successful, providing key insights for decision making and enabling opportunities for growth and expansion.”

1. You’re joining AtlasEdge as SVP of a brand-new Business Operations function — what attracted you to this opportunity?

It’s always energising to help build something new. AtlasEdge is a key player in digital infrastructure, and it’s at a really exciting stage of growth. The opportunity to help shape that journey — and the systems behind it — was too good to pass up.

2. Your background spans IT services, cybersecurity, telecoms and finance — how do you see that blend helping shape this new role?

Digital infrastructure succeeds when it brings together technology, reliability and security — all in a way that’s scalable, efficient and cost-effective. Having worked on both the buy and sell side, across different regions and sectors, I hope to bring a broad perspective to how we shape and deliver our offer.

3.  You’ve led transformation programmes across multiple regions — what’s your approach to simplifying complex organisations?

Start by aligning on what success looks like. Then identify the stable stepping stones to get there, and stay flexible along the way. If we’re all pulling in the same direction — and we’re honest about what’s working — progress follows.

4. What are you most looking forward to in your first few months at AtlasEdge?

Meeting the team and understanding what makes AtlasEdge tick. I’m looking forward to getting stuck in and supporting wherever I can add value.

5.  And when you’re not thinking about systems, platforms or processes — what might we find you doing outside of work?

I love getting outdoors — hiking in the countryside or heading to the water. I used to play water polo, but these days I prefer the gentler pace of sea kayaking, ideally somewhere warm and sunny!
