Data centre of the month: Inside AtlasEdge’s unconventional Stuttgart site

Europe’s next wave of data centre growth is taking shape – and Capacity has put one of our sites at the heart of the story.

STR001 in Stuttgart is its latest Data Centre of the Month, with a feature exploring how AtlasEdge is building for the next wave of digital infrastructure demand.

AI is accelerating demand. Data sovereignty is increasing the importance of location. And customers increasingly need capacity closer to where data is created and consumed. That’s why we’ve focused on strong regional markets beyond the traditional hubs from the start.

Stuttgart is a great example. In one of Germany’s most important industrial regions, we took STR001 from an almost empty site to customer-ready infrastructure in less than a year. It runs on 100% renewable electricity, uses highly efficient cooling and is designed with future waste heat utilisation in mind.

And this is bigger than Stuttgart. Across Germany, Austria, Spain and Portugal, we’re investing in Europe’s next wave of markets – bringing capacity closer to enterprise, cloud and increasingly AI workloads.

As Capacity puts it, the next phase of Europe’s data centre story may be written elsewhere.

We think it already is.
